The Best Nursing Schools in Manila

This is something to argue about because there are a lot of good nursing schools out there. However, we should really just have to consider the best and looking at previous board exam results and the passing rates of each school, here are the two best nursing schools in Manila. This is not in order and I am merely stating the two best nursing schools.

University of Santo Thomas
This is arguably one of the best there is. They consistently have a high passing rate and their graduates also get into the top 10 all the time. The degree is:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
College of Nursing (1946)

Program Description:
The BSN Program is a four-year program designed to prepare a professional nurse to render nursing care to individuals, families, and groups in any setting at any stage of the health-illness continuum. The curriculum is competency-and problem-based where the basic concepts in Nursing and the roles and responsibilities the students are expected to assume after graduation is considered.
Career Options:
  • Institutional Or Hospital Nursing
  • Community Health Nursing
  • Private Duty Nursing
  • Industrial Or Occupational Nursing
  • Military Nursing
  • Flight Nursing Or Aerospace Nursing
  • School Nursing
  • Clinic Nursing
  • Independent Nursing Practice
  • Pharmaceutical Representatives
  • Nursing Education
University of the Philippines - Manila
It would be very difficult to get in UP. Especially because it is the UP campus with the highest cut-off rate in the UPCAT. But it is very prestigious to graduate in UP-Manila and it would not be difficult looking for a job because it is already known worldwide as one of the prime universities in the Philippines. The degree would be:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) was one of two degrees first offered in 1948. To keep up with knowledge explosion, technological developments and the ever-changing health picture of the country, curricular revisions are regularly conducted, the latest of which were approved on February 1, 1995.

The four-year BSN degree of the UP College of Nursing is unique in its being competency-based and community-oriented value based. The program aims to prepare beginning professional nurses who shall:
  • render safe, competent and comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families and groups in promotive, preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative health situations in the hospital or community;
  • be skillful in decision-making and in the use of the nursing process and problem-solving approach;
  • have beginning skills in ward management in the hospital setting, as well as program planning, monitoring and evaluation in a community setting;
  • have demonstrate skills in interpersonal relationships used in interactions with clients, peers and other members of the health team; and serve as primary health care workers in any setting.

I hope you got something out of this and I hope you find the best nursing school yourself
